2000: Justin Gaul helped lead the 2000 Panthers to a national Top 25 ranking throughout most of the season with a stellar year in goal...served as Pittsburgh's only netminder and earned an outstanding record of 13-5, including five shutouts...his 13 wins is the second-most by a goalkeeper in school history...allowed more than one goal in just six games...named the Big East Goalkeeper of the Week after shutting out then second-ranked St. John's (Sept. 9), 1-0...also shared the conference's weekly honor on Oct. 9 after leading the Panthers to two Big East wins, including a 1-0 shutout over rival West Virginia (Oct. 4) and a 4-2 victory at Georgetown (Oct. 7)...made 10 saves on 28 shots for the week...became the first Panther to receive Big East weekly honors more than once in a single season and was just the second to garner multiple honors since Pittsburgh joined the conference in 1985...earned six straight wins to start the season...finished with a 1.16 goals-against average...broke into the Pittsburgh Top 10 for career shutouts (tied fourth, 11), wins (third, 20), least goals against (tied fourth, 43), lowest goals-against average (second, 1.13) and saves (ninth, 171).

High School: Recorded 615 saves on 744 shots in four years in goal for William Tennent High School...finished his preperatory career with a 1.70 goals-against average and 15 shutouts...recorded a career-best 1.10 GAA as a senior...was a three-time All-Conference and All-League selection...also honored as an All-State and All-Southeast Pennsylvania player...voted the league's Most Valuable Player and was a three-time team MVP...appeared on the All-America ballot...named his high school's Athlete of the Year...played club soccer for the two-time indoor state champion Southampton F.C....a dual athlete, was a team MVP, and an All-State and two-time All-League honoree for volleyball.
