CHICAGO, Il.—DePaul defeated the Pitt men’s soccer team 1-0 Sunday afternoon in Chicago.

 

The loss drops Pitt to 5-4-1 overall and 1-3-0 in Big East play while the Blue Demons improve to 3-4-2 overall and 2-2-0 in Big East play.

 

DePaul scored its lone goal in the 64th minute when Erich Reichmann kicked the ball eight yards past the Pitt goalkeeper. Assists were registered by John Kornfield and Steffen Vroom.

 

Pitt’s lone shot on goal was in the 83rd minute by Eric Jager.  DePaul outshot Pitt 11-6 and 4-1 in shots on goal.

 


 

 

Goalkeeper Eric Barnes made three saves on four attempts and altogether Pitt has only given up six goals in 10 games.

 

The Panthers have been playing close games all season, with all four of their losses coming by one goal.

 

Pitt returns home on Sunday, October 5 for its game against Marquette at Founders Field at 1 p.m.
