PITT MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO SETON HALL 2-0

EAST ORANGE, N.J.-The Pitt men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Seton Hall Saturday at Owen T. Carroll Field. The Panthers will conclude their 2006 season on Monday and move into their final regular season game standing at 5-10-2 overall and 4-5-1 in the Big East. This match up marked the end of the Pirates' regular season as they finished 9-7-1 and 7-4-0 in the Big East. Both teams have earned births in the conference championship series due to start next week. Seton Hall struck late in the first half to go ahead 1-0. At the 39th minute mark, senior David Roman tallied his third goal of the season. Eliseo Giusfredi sent a ball towards the front of the net, which was headed by teammate Teddy Niziolek to Roman who settled it and shot the ball past Panther goalie Andy Jorgensen ( Pitt had an opportunity in the 62nd minute to even the score when senior Tyler Bastianelli (Bear, Freshman Matt Baker ( Giusfredi finished the game with less than a minute to go when he sent a shot into the upper corner of the Pitt net to move the score to it's final of 2-0. Giusfredi has now earned nine goals on the season. The Panthers will finish out their regular season Monday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. as they visit SCORING SUMMARY Owen T.
