PITTSBURGH- Senior Chris Churchill (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) scored just 2:12 into the first overtime to complete the Panthers' 3-2 comeback victory over Boston College at Founders Field in Indianola, Pa., on Saturday afternoon.

Churchill got a pass from fellow senior Mark Sikora (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) and pushed Pittsburgh's unbeaten streak to six games (3-0-3) with a shot inside the right post. It was Churchill's sixth goal of the season, a new career high.

Boston College (10-6-0, 6-4-0 Big East) took an early 2-0 lead with goals at 7:25 and 16:34 in the first half. Guy Melamed blasted a shot from 22 yards out that just got under the Pittsburgh crossbar above goalkeeper Justin Gaul (Huntington Valley, Pa./William Tennent). The Eagles extended their lead a little more than nine minutes later on a goal by Adam Pfeifer from the top of the box. Neil Krause picked up an assist on the goal on a short pass right before Pfeifer's shot.

The Panthers were finally able to get on the scoreboard at the 67:33 mark when Peter Veltri (Washington, Pa./Trinity) was pulled down inside the box and junior Miles Dowiak (Houston, Texas/Mayde Creek) converted on the resulting penalty kick to cut BC's lead in half.

With 9:35 remaining in regulation, Sikora received a throw-in from freshman Jacob Kring (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont), turned off an Eagle defender and took a shot from 20 yards away that eluded goalkeeper Danny Caruso and tied the game at 2-2. The assist was Kring's first career point.

Pittsburgh was outshot, 11-8, for the game, but converted on three of the eight shot attempts. Gaul had a game-high six saves and Boston College's Chris Cleary had three shots to lead the Eagles.

Before the game, Churchill, Sikora, Veltri, goalkeeper Joe Conlan (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) and Jorge Rivera (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) were recognized as part of Senior Day.

The Panthers are now 5-1-3 in their past nine games since starting the season 1-6. They will finish the season at home against Georgetown at Founders Field. Game time is 7 p.m.
