Junior forward Billy Brush scored his second goal in two games in leading Pittsburgh to its second victory.

PITTSBURGH—Junior forward Billy Brush (Olney, Md./Sherwood/Virginia Wesleyan) scoreded the game’s only goal in the 59th minute as the Pittsburgh Men’s Soccer team defeated visiting St. Francis (Pa.) 1-0 Wednesday at Founders Field.
Pittsburgh’s win improves its overall record to 2-4-0, while St. Francis (Pa.) falls to 0-5-1 in 2003.
Keeyan Young (North Wales, Pa./Haverford School) controlled Bryan Headrick’s (Southmoreland, Pa./Southmoreland) throw-in briefly before passing to the hustling Brush. Brush settled the ball to his feet and sent it into the goal’s lower left corner. Young and Headrick each recorded an assist.
Brush’s second career goal was the first game-winning goal of his career.
Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Justin Lowery (Atlanta, Ga./Paideia School) had a solid game in goal, making four saves on six shots. The victory is the second of his career and marks his second career shutout.
Pittsburgh’s offense controlled the pace of the game as they registered 13 shots to St. Francis’ six. Both teams recorded two corner kicks.
The Panthers return to action this weekend as they travel to South Orange, N.J. for a Big East showdown against No. 23 Seton Hall. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
