PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team (0-2-2, 0-2-1 ACC) continues its home ACC schedule on Saturday, Sept. 21, hosting No. 9 Wake Forest (3-2, 2-0 ACC) at Ambrose Urbanic Field at the Petersen Sports Complex, at 7 p.m. The match will be streamed live on ESPN3.
Pitt is coming off a hard-fought 2-1 loss to Boston College in its ACC home opener last Saturday. Zane Meehan scored the lone goal for the Panthers off a beautiful ball from Ryan Myers.
For the year, Pitt has been led offensively by Myers who has three points on a goal and an assist. Chu Chu Onyeukwu and Meehan each have two points on the year.
Dan Lynd has led the Panthers between the pipes ranking first in the ACC with 5.25 saves per game.
The Demon Deacons are coming off a 1-0 loss at No. 24 Elon on Tuesday night.
For the year, Wake Forest has been led on offense by Andy Lubhan, who has seven points on two goals and three assists, and Luca Gimenez, who has six points on two goals and two assists. Andrew Harris and Alec Ferrell have split time in the cage for the Demon Deacons with each holding a shutout on the year. Wake Forest is 2-0 in ACC play with victories over Virginia and Boston College.
This will mark the first meeting between the Demon Deacons and the Panthers.
