CLEVELAND, Ohio- Cleveland State battled back from a 2-1 deficit with two goals in the game’s final 10 minutes to defeat the Pittsburgh men’s soccer team 3-2 Wednesday night at Krenzler Field. The loss drops the youthful Pittsburgh squad to 2-6-0 on the year. Cleveland State improves to 6-3-0. Pittsburgh went up 1-0 in the 18th minute when senior Clay Haflich headed in a free kick taken by freshman Brian Madden. The goal was Haflich’s second of the season. Cleveland State battled back to tie the contest at 1-1 in 37th minute when Stephen Ademolu finished a one-on-one with Pittsburgh goalkeeper Justin Lowery. But the Panthers charged back in the 44th minute when sophomore Keeyan Young scored on a loose ball in the penalty box. Pittsburgh’s lead would last a full-40 minutes until Cleveland State’s David Stewart tied the game at 2-2 when he finished on a loose ball in the 81st minute. Seven minutes later, Ademolu scored the game-winner on a counterattack, giving the Vikings a 3-2 lead and eventual win. Pittsburgh’s Lowery finished the evening with six saves while facing 19 shots. The Panthers managed 11 shots on the evening. --30--
