PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team (0-3-2, 0-3 ACC) will travel to Ludwig Field in College Park, Md., on Friday, Sept. 27 to take on No. 8 Maryland (2-2-3, 2-0-1 ACC) at 7:30 p.m.
Pitt is coming off a 2-0 loss to No. 9 Wake Forest in an ACC battle at Ambrose Urbanic Field. Wake Forest put up two early goals, but the Panthers quickly regrouped keeping Wake Forest off the boards for the remainder of the game. Sophomore Dan Lynd had a career-best 10 saves.
For the year, Pitt has been led offensively by Ryan Myers who has three points on a goal and an assist. Chu Chu Onyeukwu and Zane Meehan each have two points on the year. Lynd is leading the ACC in saves per game with 6.2; ninth in the country.
The Terrapins tied Old Dominion in two overtimes on Tuesday night with a second half goal to salvage the game.
For the year, Maryland has been led by Schillo Tshuma on offense with five goals and 11 points, and Patrick Mullins who has four goals, three assists, and 11 points; also named ACC player of the week. Against Old Dominion, freshman goalkeeper Zach Steffen tallied a career high seven saves.
This will mark the third meeting between the Panthers and Terps. Dating back to 1962 the Terps hold a 3-0 lead over the Panthers. The last meeting was held in Pittsburgh in 1964 with Maryland winning 6-3.
