PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team (0-6-2, 0-5-0 ACC) will host Virginia Tech (3-3-3, 1-1-3 ACC) in a conference showdown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, at Ambrose Urbanic Field. The contest will be aired live on ESPN3.
Pitt is coming off a 5-0 loss at Virginia. For the year, Pitt has been led offesnivley by Ryan Myers who has four points on a goal and two assists. Chu Chu Onyeukwu, Zane Meehan and Kevin Murray each have two points on the year. Dan Lynd has led the Panthers between the pipes ranking first in the ACC with 45 saves and a 5.62 saves per game mark.
Virginia Tech is coming off of a 3-0 loss at No. 20 Wake Forest. For the season, the Hokies have been led offensively by Robert Alberti, who has 10 points on four goals and two assists. Kyle Renfro has been the man in the net for VT, playing all 877:38 minutes and holding a 1.13 goals against average with 44 saves and three shutouts.
This will mark the fourth meeting between the Panthers and Hokies, former Big East foes. Virginia Tech holds a 2-0-1 series advantage with the last meeting coming in 2003.
