PITTSBURGH –University of Pittsburgh senior Terry Akpua was selected to the Big East Men’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Monday.
It is the third honor roll selection of the season for a Panthers player as freshman goalkeeper Lee Johnston earned the accolade on two previous occasions (Oct. 3 and Sept. 5).
Akpua scored a goal and had an assist in a 2-0 win over Seton Hall on Saturday evening. The Bowie, Md. native delivered the pass on the eventual game-winner and scored an insurance goal for the Panthers, who moved to 2-1 in Big East play with the victory.
The Panthers host Backyard Brawl foe West Virginia on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at Ambrose Urbanic Field. On Saturday, Oct. 15, Pitt travels to No. 1. UConn for a 7:30 p.m. start. The Huskies are riding a 17-game home unbeaten streak.
