PITTSBURGH- The Pitt men's soccer team will enter postseason play for the first time in six years on Wednesday, Oct. 25, in a 7:30 p.m. match up with St. John's at their home field in Queens, N.Y.

The Panthers were scheduled to finish out their regular season Monday, Oct. 23, in a 7 p.m. game against West Virginia. The game was to be made up after being postponed earlier in the season due to inclement weather conditions. Due to the game having no implications on post season play for either team, the match will not be played. Both teams will take the day to prepare for the first round of Big East playoffs.

Pitt heads into the postseason with a 5-10-2 overall record and a 4-5-1 tally in the Big East and the No. 6 seed in the Blue Division, while St. John's posted a 9-5-2 overall record and a 5-4-2 conference record in the regular season and garnered the No 3 seed in the Blue Division. The Panthers have not faced the Redstorm since the two teams met in a 2004 game where St. John's came out on top 1-0.

The winner of this first-round game will head to Connecticut to take on the No. 2 seed in the Blue Division, Connecticut, on Saturday, Oct. 28, while the loser will be eliminated.
