PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh men’s soccer team (0-9-4/0-7-2 ACC) will host Duke (6-4-6/1-3-5 ACC) in an ACC showdown at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, at Ambrose Urbanic Field. The match will serve as Pitt’s senior day.
Prior to the match, Pitt’s senior class of John Cordier, Chris Davis, Ryan McKenzie, Ben Stein, Eric Walker and Nico Wrobel will be honored for their contributions to the program.
Pitt is coming off a 1-0 loss at home against North Carolina. Braden Horton played admirably in place of Dan Lynd for the Panthers allowing only one goal to No. 11 North Carolina
For the year, Pitt has been led offensively by Ryan Myers who has three points on a goal and an assist. Chu Chu Onyeukwu and Zane Meehan each have two points on the year.
Lynd has led the Panthers between the pipes ranking first in the ACC with 69 saves and a 5.75 saves per game mark.
Duke is coming off of a 2-2 tie with No. 15 Wake Forest on October 25. For the year, the Blue Devils have been led on offense by Brody Huitema, who has six goals and 15 points, and Sean Davis, who has 13 points on five goals.
This season Alex Long has started every game in goal for Duke. Long has a 1.03 GAA and 64 saves in 1569:11 minutes of action.
This will mark the second meeting between the Blue Devils and the Panthers. The last time they met in 1955 Duke won 1-0.
