PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team (1-10-4/0-8-2 ACC) will wrap up its 2013 season when it travels to Notre Dame (10-1-5/6-1-3 ACC) for an ACC showdown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, at Alumni Stadium. The match will air live, free of charge on WatchND.
Pitt is coming off a 9-0 win at home against Howard. The nine goals for the Panthers ties the second most goals scored in a game in program history and are the most for Pitt since a 9-0 victory over Canisus during the 1993 season. Braden Horton played outstanding in goal for the Panthers with five saves and a shutout. Chris Davis recorded a hat trick in only 76 minutes.
Dan Lynd has led the Panthers between the pipes ranking first in the ACC with 77 saves and 5.92 saves per game.
Notre Dame is coming off of a 2-0 win over Michigan State on November 5. For the year, the Irish have been led on offense by Harrison Shipp, who has seven goals and 21 points, and Patrick Hodan, who has 12 points on four goals.
This season Patrick Wall has played every minute in goal for the Fighting Irish. Wall has a 0.64 GAA and 51 saves in 1541:55 minutes of action.
This will mark the eighteenth meeting between the Irish and the Panthers. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 11-3-3, including a 7-1 victory last season.
