PITTSBURGH—Sophomore forward Keeyan Young earned his first postseason conference honor as he was named to the All-Big East Second Team, voted on by the Big East coaches, the conference announced Thursday.
Young (North Wales, Pa./Haverford School) becomes the fourth Pittsburgh player to earn second-team honors and the first since former Panthers standout Ben Garry in the 2000 season. With a team-leading six goals, three assists and 15 points, Young led the Panthers to a season mark of 6-11-1 overall, including a mark of 3-6-1 in Big East Conference play.
For his career, Young has 11 goals and six assists for a total of 28 points in 36 games. Young’s 11 goals leave him just seven away the Panthers’ top ten all-time scorers. Young also has recorded five game-winning goals in his two seasons as a Panther, and his three game-winners this season place him fourth in the Big East.
