Brundage comes to Pitt from Troy University where he served as the throws coach for three seasons and accumulated an extensive list of accomplishments.

Under Brundage, nine school records fell, his athletes won three individual Sun Belt titles and seven qualified for the NCAA Regional Championship. He also coached Tiphanie Baker to the eighth farthest throw in the country two years ago in women's discus while coaching the 10th farthest throw in the men's javelin last season.

Before coaching at Troy, Brundage worked at Drake University as the Assistant Track and Field Coach and Recruiting Coordinator from 2005-08. At Drake he guided two conference scorers to the Missouri Valley Conference Championships, signed the top recruiting class in school history and helped the Bulldogs earn six Team Academic All-American honors.

A 1999 graduate from Simpson College, Brundage holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics education and coaching. He was an All-American during his sophomore and junior seasons and was named the team MVP three times. He also played football and was a First Team All-Conference selection at defensive end as a junior.
