PITTSBURGH-While the majority of the Pitt men's and women's track and field teams were in Knoxville, Tenn., this weekend at the Sea Ray Relays, a group of athletes traveled to Lewisburg, Pa., for the Bison Outdoor Classic.
For the men's team, senior Jerome Lowery had an impressive day with two top-10 finishes. He crossed the finish line in fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.74 while also finishing seventh in the 200-meter dash (21.84).
In the 800-meter dash, junior Wesley Washington finished 18th with a time of 1:55.28.
In another top-20 performance, senior Idris Kasumu finished 19th in the 100-meter dash (11.28).
In the field events, junior Brad Rocco turned in a top-15 performance in the men's pole vault with a 13th place finish of 4.05 meters.
For the women's team, sophomore Julia Koloski finished ninth in the long jump with a leap of 5.44 meters.
In a competitive 1,500-meter run field, freshman Morgan Perry crossed the finish line in 4:50.17.
The Panthers will return to action next weekend at the Legacy Track Meet in Baltimore, Md.
