PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Pittsburgh men’s track and field wrapped up competition this past weekend at the 2009 IC4A Track and Field championship hosted by Princeton University, located in Princeton, N.J.
The field events were an advantage point for the Panthers throughout the IC4A Championship this past weekend, landing the most finishes for the team.
Freshman Ijelu Folarin was Pitt’s highest finisher taking sixth place in the triple jump with a distance of 14.99 meters. Teammate Eric Jones followed with a jump of 12.69 meters, landing him a 32nd place finish.
Mathew Raquet secured a 12th place finish in the javelin event with a throw of 59.47 meters. Continuing in the field, Garret Larkin took a 15th in the shot put with a heave of 15.75 meters.
On the track, the 10, 000 meter run landed a 24th place finish for runner Joshua Christopher with a time of 32:44.97.
Next up for the men’s track and field team is the NCAA East Regional, located in Greensboro, N.C. The event will take place May 29th and the 30th.
