PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After running the nation's fifth fastest 400 meter dash time, junior Carvin Nkanata has been named the Big East Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by league officials on Tuesday afternoon.
Nkanata posted a time of 46.31 at the SPIRE Invitational and finished the race third overall. Teammate Brycen Spratling was one tenth of a second ahead of him at 46.30, while David Verburg of George Mason won the event with the nation's fastest time of the season at 45.83.
