PITTSBURGH— Coming off its third-place finish at the Big East Outdoor Championships last weekend, the University of Pittsburgh men’s track and field team travels to Princeton, N.J., this week for the IC4A Championships May 11-13.

An impressive 16 Panthers qualified for the IC4As, including seniors Antony Hobwana and Jermaine Lowery, who both took home individual gold medals at the Big East Championships in the 100-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles, respectively, last weekend.

Hobwana and Lowery, along with sophomore Micah Murray and senior Jerome Lowery recorded a first-place finish in the 1,600-meter relay at the Big East Championship with a mark of 3:08.09.

“We’re definitely looking for a great showing this weekend,” Jermaine Lowery said. “Personally, I’m hoping to set another personal record in the 400-meter hurdles and to go out there and win is something I hope to do.”

Additionally, the 400-meter relay team of Hobwana, Murray, freshman Joshua Thompson and sophomore Reginald Steele IV captured first with a time of 40.42.

Jermaine Lowery looks to improve upon his second-place performance in the 400-meter hurdles at the IC4A Championships last year (51.09).

Meanwhile, Steele IV placed eighth in the long jump last season (seven meters) and junior Dan Kwiatkowski finished eighth in the shot put (16.07 meters).
