2005-06
Mike Heist earned his first NCAA berth as a junior after a third-place finish at the EWL Championships where he defeated Bloomsburg's Jesse Hasseman...Wrestled as the Panthers' starter at 197 pounds where he finished with an 8-19 record including one major decision...Won his dual matches against Slippery Rock, Duquesne and Clarion...Proved he battles to the end with three matches going into overtime and five dual matches within two scoring points.
2004-05
Heist competed in the Michigan State Open, Mat Town Invitational and Las Vegas Invitational...Closed out his season by defeating Chris Goings of rival Clarion University.
2003-04
Heist wrestled eight times as a true freshman, including a dual meet against EWL rival Clarion...Finished the season 1-7 with a win in the Mat Town Invitational...Also competed in the Michigan State Open and Beast of the East tournament.

Heist was a three-year letterwinner for Parkland High School under head coach Jim Best...Compiled a career record of 94-47, including a 26-12 season his senior year...A two-time all-state honoree...Named to second team Morning Call all-area as a senior...Earned District 11 honors, placing fifth as a sophomore, third as a junior and second as a senior...A two-time state qualifier...Placed third in the Northeast Region as a junior and second as a senior.
