PITTSBURGH - The 12th-ranked Pitt wrestling team opens its 2013 dual slate by welcoming a quartet of teams - No. 24 Bloomsburg, Davidson, Eastern Michigan and Lock Haven - to Fitzgerald Field House for the annual Pitt Duals on Sunday, Jan. 13, beginning at 10 a.m.
The Panthers, who are coming off a 10th place finish at the Midlands Championships, will meet No. 24 Bloomsburg to open their competition followed by matchups with Eastern Michigan and Davidson. The Panthers will face Lock Haven in a road dual on Jan. 26.
Pitt head coach Rande Stottlemyer enters the Pitt Duals with a 299-266-12 career record and will look to capture his 300th dual victory during Sunday's action.
The Panthers feature a strong lineup with five wrestlers - Shelton Mack (133), Tyler Wilps (165), Max Thomusseit (184), Matt Wilps (197) and Zac Thomusseit (285) - ranked in the latest Amateur Wrestling News poll.
