PITTSBURGH – The 17th-ranked Pitt wrestling team (6-4, 2-1 EWL) returns to the mats on Saturday, Jan. 26, when it faces EWL rival Lock Haven at Thomas Field House. The match, which begins at 7 p.m., will be streamed live online via the Lock Haven website free of cost to all wrestling fans.
The Panthers are coming off a 26-14 loss at No. 2 Oklahoma State. Picking up victories over the Cowboys were Shelton Mack, Travis Shaffer and Matt Wilps. Shaffer and Wilps earned bonus points for Pitt recording wins by technical fall and a fall, respectively.
Lock Haven (5-3, 1-1 EWL) is coming off a road loss to EWL foe Edinboro. Prior to the loss at EU, the Eagles had won three consecutive duals, including wins over Eastern Michigan and Davidson at the Pitt Duals. For the season, LHU has been led by sophomore 165-pounder Aaron McKinney who leads the team with 23 wins. Junior 184-pounder Fred Garcia and redshirt freshman 141-pounder Dan Neff each have 20 wins on the season for the Eagles.
