ESPN3: Pitt vs Edinboro | Pitt vs Michigan 

PITTSBURGH- The No. 6 Pitt wrestling team returns to action this weekend as it hosts the No. 18 Edinboro Fighting Scots Friday, Feb. 14, and the No. 8 Michigan Wolverines Saturday, Feb. 15. Both matches are set to start at 7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House and will be streamed live on ESPN3. Saturday’s match will also serve as Senior Day.

Pitt is coming off a 19-14 victory over ACC foe Virginia Tech in which the Panthers clinched a share of the ACC Regular Season Championship, marking the first ACC title, in any sport, for the University. Winning three straight bouts from 174-197 pounds, Pitt was able to maintain the lead, putting a victory out of reach for the Hokies.

The Panthers roster features seven wrestlers ranked in the latest InterMat polls led by a pair of top-10 grapplers in Max Thomusseit (#6, 184 pounds) and Tyler Wilps (#7, 174 pounds).

Edinboro, who won the EWL Championship, hits the road after hosting the Edinboro Open on Feb. 8, in which six Fighting Scots placed, as well as 41-3 victory over University of Buffalo on Feb. 1. In accordance with the latest InerMat polls, seven Edinboro wrestlers hold national rankings, led by Mitchell Port (#1, 141 pounds) and A.J. Schopp (#2, 133 pounds).

The Wolverines are coming to Pitt after falling at No. 3 Iowa, 26-6, in its final Big Ten Conference dual last Sunday, Feb. 9. Currently, Michigan boasts eight wrestlers ranked in the latest InterMat polls, including top-10 ranked Steven Dutton (#8, 141 pounds), Eric Grajales (#8, 149 pounds), Dan Yates (#6, 165 pounds), and Adam Coon (#2, 285 pounds).

Former EWL rivals Pitt and Edinboro have met 27 times with EU leading the series 16-10. The Panthers have won the last four meetings including a nail-biting, 19-18, win last season. Pitt trailed 18-0 but rallied to win the final six matches for the win, featuring four victories from current Pitt wrestlers.

The Panthers and Wolverines are meeting for the 32nd time in program history. Pitt has a 9-21-1 all-time record against UM, including a 16-15 setback in Ann Arbor last season.
