INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA on Wednesday afternoon announced the 330 participants that will compete in the 2014 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, awarding two of the 45 at-large berths available to members of the No. 10 Pitt wrestling team: 133-pound senior Shelton Mack and 197-pound sophomore Nick Bonaccorsi.
Mack and Bonaccorsi will join Pitt’s six automatic NCAA qualifiers – Anthony Zanetta (125), Edgar Bright (141), Mikey Racciato (149), Tyler Wilps (174), Max Thomusseit (184) and P.J. Tasser (HWT) – when the Panthers travel to Oklahoma City next week for nationals from March 20-22.
The eight NCAA qualifiers from Pitt marks the third time in the last four seasons that eight Panthers booked trips to nationals. The seeds and first round opponents for those Pitt wrestlers are listed below.
