PITTSBURGH - The 18th-ranked Pitt wrestling team will return to action this Sunday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. when they face No. 5 Ohio State in Columbus. The dual will be steamed lived online via Buckeye Vision.
The Panthers are coming off a narrow one-point loss at No. 13 Michigan. In the match, the Panthers (0-1) and Wolverines split the 10 dual matches with the difference in score coming from a UM major decision. On the day, Pitt got three wins in overtime from Shelton Mack (133), Tyler Wilps (165) and Matt Wilps (197) and a pair of decisions from Max Thomusseit (184) and Zac Thomusseit (285).
The Buckeyes bring a strong lineup into the match with Pitt as nine of their 10 weight classes feature a wrestler ranked in the latest Amateur Wrestling News Poll. Pitt, which has a wrestler ranked at five weight classes by AWN, has a 10-11 all-time record against the Buckeyes, including a 22-9 setback last season at Fitzgerald Field House.
