PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh wrestling team has signed five future student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, head coach Rande Stottlemyer announced Wednesday. The class of Edgar Bright Jr., Mikey Racciato, Ryan Solomon, Cody Wiercloch and Nick Zanetta has been regarded as one of the elite signing classes in the nation by several wrestling publications.
"We're fortunate we got some really good kids committed to our program," said associate head coach Jason Peters. "These kids and their families felt comfortable with what we do here at Pitt and where we are heading as a program. Kids feel like they can come here and become All-Americans or National Champions and that's good for Pitt Wrestling but hard work is what will decide how this finishes."

"While I'm excited about these guys joining our program, I don't want to get too caught up in the hype or the ranks. I want to get them here and get them to work and on the path to success not only on the mat but off it as well," Peters said. "Anytime you sign winners, and these guys are winners, they've been in and won a lot of finals and semifinals, that helps the transition (from high school to college wrestling) provided they stay true to the work."
