Favorite Food: Chicken with ranch dressing and waffles from Waffle House and a very specific, terrifying burrito bowl from Chipotle. I say "specific and terrifying" because I am known at the Oakland Chipotle as "mild salsa girl." It's horrifying; I am horrifying.
Favorite Class/Subject: Language Arts and History. THREE CHEERS FOR THE HUMANITIES!!!!!!
Favorite Professor/Teacher: In high school, my favorite teacher was Mr. Hottle...hands down one of the funniest men I've ever met. Also I had a bit of a complex where I found myself wildly attracted to him. In college, John Gareis. God bless that man and his passion and zest for communications.
Favorite Book: WHAT BOOK, SINGULAR????? THIS HAS TO BE A TRICK QUESTION. The Catcher in the Rye.
Favorite TV Show: Summer Heights High....1. Because I cackle every time it's even mentioned 2. Because I could never admit my affinity for the Kardashians.
Favorite Movie: Wedding Crashers
Favorite actor: GeorgeClooneyTomHanksEdwardNortonLeonardoDicaprioVinceVaughn in the form of one superhuman, hence the run-on name sentence.
Favorite actress: Mila Kunis, mainly because I want to be her. If not Mila, Kate Winslet.
Favorite musician: Third Eye Blind
Favorite sports figure: Gabby Douglas. Dear God, turn me into Gabby Douglas.
Favorite sport other than yours: Volleyball
The best athlete you have competed against or with (name, where): Elena Delle Donne, Delaware
Person in history I would most like to meet: Given that it's election season, there can really be no other answer besides Stephen Colbert. Wait, given that it's everyday life, there can really be no other answer besides Stephen Colbert.
If I could travel back in time, I would: Advise my 9th grade self against the silver homecoming dress and matching silver drag queen eye shadow. In all honesty, even the most mediocre drag queen looks better than I did on that disturbing 15 year old night.
You would be surprised to know: I'm a grammar freak. Don't even bother asking me to use text lingo. And ESPECIALLY don't use the wrong form of "there/their/they're"; "to/too/two"; "your/you're". Be better than that.
I look forward to: Making it to 8:30 pm any night I have a night class without running laps around the classroom and squawking like some kind of wild animal. It's the little things in life...
Whenever my playing days are over, I will: Backpack Europe, road trip the US and just generally live my life as a vagabond.
What I like most about the University/ why I chose Pittsburgh: Inside the main hall of the Cathedral or standing on the Cathedral lawn in between the Cathedral and Heinz Chapel. Why? Because it's the closest I'll ever get to attending Hogwarts. It is what it is.
What I like most about the city of Pittsburgh: The fabulous predictability of the weather.
Happiest/most gratifying moment in sports: Making the kickball team in first grade.
Hobbies: Reading and traveling. That's really it. I tend to live my life in a fantasy world where I gallivant across the globe pretending that I'm a female version of Peter Pan so that I won't ever age.
My role model (Why?): Mark Dowd, Ginny Dowd, Susan Kuntz: because all three love me unconditionally and have tolerated me for far longer than I've deserved.
Best friend on another team: Emilee Harmon, Ohio State. CHEERS TO DAYTON LADY HOOPSTARS U17 AAU.
Notable players/people who attended your high school: Chelsea Dowd, my little tiny baby angel sister and the best high school bowler / volleyball honorable mention CBC sportsmanship award winner I know.
List anything interesting about your family? We're incredibly dysfunctional.
Why I chose the University of Pittsburgh? Great academics, great city, great sports, but mostly because it's where Batman was filmed and I can refer to it as Gotham City.
If I could choose another career besides my sport, it would be: Professional globetrotter...and I don't mean from Harlem.
If I could play another sport at Pittsburgh, it would be: Quidditch
My Sportcenter highlight goes like this: Bubbles puts me on her shoulders and we casually stand under the basket as I pretend to be Britteny Griner and block every shot that comes our way. Although, lets be honest, Brittney would probably still get more blocks that the combination of Bubs and me....
Best job ever held: Being a Pathfinder and giving tours to prospective students.
Not many people know this but I: Under no circumstance can I or will I sleep in socks.
Favorite all-time Christmas gift: Traveling with my family.
My favorite home-cooked meal: I wouldn't know, my mother has an extreme aversion to the kitchen. Perhaps "phobia" would be a better description.
When I was a kid, I pretended to be: Scary Spice.
If I could choose one word to describe myself, it would be: Annoying.
Schools who recruited you/offered scholarship: To pledge allegience to my former school and the 19th year of my life, I'm simply going to just shout out THE UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO, holllaaaaaaaaaa!
