Chelsea Cole enjoyed a breakout season in 2009-10, leading the Big East Conference in rebounding and also being named an All-Big East Honorable Mention selection...ranked sixth nationally in regular season in rebounding...a State Farm Coaches All-America candidate...Cole broke Pitt's single season rebound record for a junior by grabbing 340 rebounds...lead the team in rebounding in 22 of 29 games...averaged 11.3 rebounds per game, grabbing double-digit rebounds in 17 games...scored 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting, a career-high in shots taken, and recorded 16 rebounds for her third double-double on the year at Western Kentucky (Dec. 22)...hauled in 21 rebounds in consecutive games against Duquesne (Dec. 29) and at Marquette (Jan. 2)...went 6-6 from the charity stripe to set a career-high in free throws made against Louisville (Feb. 14)...dominated the glass against Seton Hall (Feb. 20) hauling in a career-high 22 rebounds while tying her career-high in assists with four...scored a personal-best 20 points while going 6-of-7 from the foul line at Cincinnati (Feb. 27)...recorded six straight double-doubles from February 17 to March 5...ended the season on a 13-for-14 stretch from the charity stripe over the final four games of the year...tallied nine double-doubles on the season...finished the season in ninth place on Pitt's all-time career rebounds list.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2008-09)
Chelsea Cole appeared in 32 games, serving as a key reserve during her sophomore season with the Panthers...scored a season-high 11 points against West Virginia State...grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds in Pitt's 32-point victory over South Florida...provided key spark off the bench by scoring nine points, grabbing 11 rebounds and adding, a career-high tying, five blocked shots in a two-point victory at Syracuse...tallied an impressive eight rebound, six point, four steal and two block performance in Pitt's victory over Cincinnati...tied a season and career-high with five blocked shots in the Gonzaga win during the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2007-08)
Named to the Big East All-Freshman Team..Played in all 35 games and earned a start in five of those contests...scored 10 points and had a career-high four assists at Marquette...had eight rebounds and six points against Connecticut...led all scorers and set her career high with 17 against Seton Hall...also earned her first career start in that win...gave a solid performance against Providence with seven points and seven rebounds...had an outstanding game at Cincinnati with 10 rebounds, eight points and a team season-best five blocks...came off the bench to score six points and seven rebounds...had a solid game at No. 15 DePaul with nine rebounds and eight points in the win...pulled down eight rebounds in 44-point win at Wagner...had eight rebounds in 24 minutes in the win over Duquesne...came off the bench at Maryland and added solid minutes in the post for Pitt with five points and five rebounds...earned her first double-digit rebound game at Mount St. Mary's with 11...had a strong game against Arizona with eight points and six rebounds in 14 minutes...began her collegiate career playing eight minutes against Charlotte and grabbing four rebounds.
Cole attended Rancocas Valley High School...finished her career with 1,334 points and over 1,000 rebounds...averaged 19 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks per game as a senior...Cole was named All-State two times, All-Area once, All-South Jersey three times and All-Burlington County three times...was named Gatorade Rookie of the Year as a freshman...in 2005, Cole broke the school record for most points for a sophomore in a single season with a total of 360...Cole also broke a school record by grabbing 29 rebounds in a game and holds the record for most blocked shots in a single game with 11...Cole is a three time All-Liberty Division and All-Burlington County first team honoree and a two-time Burlington County All-Star...as a starter in her junior season, she averaged 16 points 17 rebounds and six blocks per game...Cole was named the 50th best player in the country by the All Star Girls Report.
