Amy Kunich led nearby Oakland Catholic High School to three consecutive WPIAL Quad A championships (1999-01), as well as the Pennsylvania state title in 2001...a four-year starter and all-section honoree...scored a total of 1,531 career points in four seasons...averaged 14.1 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 7.0 assists per game as a senior...was a first-team all-state honoree in her final season...named the Most Valuable Player of the 2001 Eat `n Park Girls Roundball Classic...also earned the Special Performance Award by the Western PA Youth Basketball Club, Inc....averaged 10.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.5 steals and a team-leading 7.0 assists per game as a junior...named to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's "Fab 5" three times and the Tribune-Review's "Terrific 10" twice...was honored as the Western Pennsylvania Basketball Club's Player of the Month three times, and earned its Player of the Year award as a junior...earned recognition as a Scholar-Athlete in 2001 by the United States Army Reserve for outstanding academic and athletic excellence...a member of the President's Education Awards Program and recipient of the National Student-Athlete Day Award.
