Openings available to help the Pitt women's basketball team.
Nick Rivers enters his second season on the Pitt basketball staff, serving as the team's director of operations. The Phoenix, Az. native is no stranger to Pitt hoops as he was a former student-athlete and captain on the men's basketball squad.
A 2011 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in economics, Rivers served as a graduate assistant in the department of athletics before being named the Director of Operations. Working in the academic support area, he monitored daily class attendance and performance of the football and men's basketball teams. Rivers was also was responsible for hosting recruits, professors and faculty for recruiting weekends.
Rivers earned his Masters of Business Administration degree in August 2013 from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business.
While an undergraduate, Rivers also worked as a marketing intern for ProTech Compliance, Inc. He helped conduct market research on financial, education and healthcare industries to report back to executive management.
Upon his arrival at Pitt, Rivers was a student manager for the men's basketball team. He assisted in all aspects of the program, including daily practice and game-day operations. He was elevated to a walk-on in 2009. Rivers was a three-time Big East Academic All-Star.
