FRESHMAN SEASON (2004-05)
Vika Sholokhova played in all but two games during her rookie campaign and started 20 games at forward for the Panthers...missed the opener against North Carolina A&T due to a foot injury and Connecticut game due to illness...averaged 6.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game...ranked fourth in rebounding and was second on the team in 3-pointers (26)...had a career day against Penn State, posting her first double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds, both season-highs... made 8-of-18 shots from the field while playing 31 minutes versus the Nittany Lions...tallied 14 points, including four 3-pointers in six attempts, at Stony Brook...finished her first postseason game with 14 points and seven rebounds against West Virginia in the Big East Championships... had 11 points, three rebounds, two steals and two assists against Villanova...posted 11 points and seven rebounds at St. Francis (NY)...in the win over Providence, finished with 11 points and five rebounds in 26 minutes...contributed 10 points, hitting two 3-pointers, and grabbed five rebounds at Duquesne...tallied seven points and seven rebounds in contests against Notre Dame and St. John's.

Sholokhova came to the United States from St. Petersburg (Russia) and played her final two years of high school at Sacred Heart High in Vineland, N.J...led the Lady Lions to the New Jersey Parochial B state championship in 2003, finishing with a 27-2 record...listed as one of the top 45 players in the country by Nike's Post Summer/Preseason list (2003)...averaged 19.6 points and 12.0 rebounds as a senior and led the team to a 25-2 record and conference championship...also had 68 assists and 50 steals in her final season at Sacred Heart...named a Street & Smith's and Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Honorable Mention All-American ...prior to coming to the U.S., played five years for the Russian Junior National team that won the 2002 Junior Olympic games in Moscow.
