Stewart was a solid threat from 3-point range last season and was very quick up and down the court...came off the bench in all 29 games...averaged 8.2 points per game overall, to place her fourth on the team...scored 6.9 points per game in Big East contests...shot 33.3 percent from 3-point range making 50-of-150 attempts...earned Big East Conference Rookie of the Week honors on Jan. 10 after wins over St. John's and West Virginia...eclipsed the 20-point plateau three times...had a breakout performance at Hampton (Dec. 11) when she scored 25 points, all in the second half by connecting on 8-of-10 shots from the field, including 6-of-9 3-pointers...netted her second 20-point game with 20 points in an overtime win over Duquesne on New Year's Day...her 3-pointer with 52 seconds remaining tied the score and forced the overtime period...came close to setting a Big East record with a 24-point performance against Seton Hall (Feb. 16) when she hit 6-of-7 3-pointers (the record was a perfect 7-of-7)...Stewart shot 7-of-8 overall in the game with 4-of-4 free throws and a career-high five assists...scored in double-figures a total of 11 times...had another double-figure performance at the Big East Tournament when she sank 13 points...dished out four assists twice--against West Virginia (Jan. 18) and Providence (Jan. 12)...had a career-high three steals versus Providence as well...combined with Monique Toney to ignite a 21-1 Pittsburgh run against Rutgers (Dec. 8)...her nine points in the surge helped the Panthers rally from a 24-point deficit...tied a career-high mark with six rebounds against both Georgetown and Villanova.
Stewart finished her career at East Allegheny with 3,055 points and 587 assists... averaged 31.2 points per game as a senior and 29.0 points in her career...averaged 29.5 points as a junior, 31.5 as a sophomore and 23.9 as a freshman...led her team to the WPIAL playoffs all four years...was the WPIAL scoring champion as a senior and sophomore...led her team to the WPIAL AA 1999 Championship, the first in school history...her team advanced to the Western Region semifinals of the state playoffs and finished with a 28-3 record, including an 11-0 record in section play...selected a two-time Street & Smith's Honorable Mention All-American...named a USA Today Girls Basketball Honorable Mention Player of the Year...selected the Pittsburgh Tribune Review and McKeesport Daily News 1999 Player of the Year...selected first team All-State in 1999...named 1999 WPIAL AA Player of the Year...selected a Pittsburgh Tribune Review Girls "Terrific 10"...a four-time Pittsburgh Post-Gazette East Fab 5 honoree...named the 1999 Most Valuable Player of the Pennsylvania Roundball Classic...honored as the Kenny Durrett Pittsburgh Classic WPIAL MVP...selected the 1998 Blue Star Camp MVP...was a Blue Star Top 100 player nationally...set WPIAL records for points in a game (56), 3-pointers (8), free throws attempted (22), most points in a quarter (18) and most points in a half (26)...the 1999 District 7 Player of the Year...named a 1999 first team WPIAL AA All-Star...East Allegheny High School retired her jersey (No. 5).
