Sylvie Tafen came across the Atlantic to Wheeling, West Virginia, from Cameroon, Africa, two years ago...led Mount De Chantal to the top ranking in West Virginia Class A in her two years on the team...averaged 11 points and four rebounds on her junior-year team that finished 27-7...was a tri-captain for the 2004-05 season and helped the Lions to a 26-5 of four seniors on Mount de Chantal's team to sign with Division I schools for the 2005-06 season...played AAU ball for the Queen City Jaguars in Ohio, leading the team to a first-place state finish and fifth-place national finish...has only been playing basketball for a few years but her skills have improved dramatically in a short time.
