JUNIOR SEASON (2004-05)
Cheron Taylor played in all but two games for the Panthers, starting nine at forward as a junior...the team's third-leading rebounder (5.1 avg.) as well as third in steals (23)...had four double-doubles on the season, including 16 points and 14 rebounds in the season opener against North Carolina A&T...had a career-high 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to post a double-double against Long Beach State...hit 7-of-11 shots from the field versus the 49ers...tallied her third double-double of the season as she finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds against Penn State...finished with 12 rebounds and 10 points against Providence (Feb. 28) for her fourth double-double of the season...seven of her rebounds were on the offensive end and added three assists and three steals against the Friars...pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds and added nine points and three steals at Clemson...hit a personal-best 13 free throws (14 attempts) to finish with 13 points against South Carolina State...named to the UNC Greensboro all-tournament team...posted 12 points and six rebounds at Fordham, and had a perfect 8-for-8 performance at the free-throw line...named one of three tri-captains prior to the season.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2003-04)
After seeing action in just 10 games as a freshman, Taylor solidified her role in the paint last season...sat out the opener (team suspension), but saw action in every other game, starting seven...led the team in rebounding in four games...made her first career start against Syracuse...finished with a then-career-high nine rebounds and added two points and two assists versus the Orangewomen...in her second career start, recorded her first double-double in the win over Providence...tallied career highs of 17 points and 11 rebounds with two steals in 38 minutes...hit 7-of-14 field goals and 3-of-4 foul shots versus the Friars...pulled down nine rebounds and added four points in the win at Seton Hall...at West Virginia, played 36 minutes and had 13 points (6-of-8 shooting) to go along with eight rebounds...came off the bench in the game's initial minutes and played the rest of the contest...had 10 points and five rebounds in the season finale against Villanova...hit 6-of-7 free throws against the Wildcats...finished with eight boards (six offensive) and five points at St. John's...had seven points and six rebounds in 18 minutes versus Fordham...hit 3-of-4 field goals and added two steals...posted a team-high seven rebounds and tallied six points at Villanova...tallied four points and five boards in 12 minutes at Miami...finished with a career-high six steals to go with six rebounds, four points and two blocks at home versus Virginia Tech...pulled down seven rebounds and added four points versus West Virginia (Jan. 31)...finished with six points and three rebounds at Virginia Tech (Feb. 28)...made first appearance of this season against Central Connecticut State...in five minutes, finished with two points versus the Blue Devils...finished with six points at Norfolk State...also tallied three rebounds and a career-best three steals against the Spartans...had five rebounds with three points and one steal against Duquesne...finished with two points, three rebounds and a blocked shot versus Hartford...hit her only field goal attempt against Penn State and finished with two points, three rebounds and two blocks in 10 minutes...had two points, three rebounds and two steals in 14 minutes at Robert Morris.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2002-03)
Played in 10 contests, scoring at least three points in five of those games...had best all-around game against Furman...versus the Lady Paladins, scored six points and added three rebounds, two steals, one block and made both of her foul shots...totaled three points and three rebounds in four minutes against Florida Atlantic...had four points (2-of-2 shooting) and two rebounds in the win over St. John's...finished with two points and one assist at Georgetown...in nine minutes against West Virginia, pulled down two boards and added one block and one steal...had two points, one rebound and one steal against Boston College.
Taylor was a member of the three-time city, district and regional championship teams at Martin Luther King High...was named all-city as a sophomore and senior and was recognized as all-state (honorable mention) as a sophomore...averaged 10 points and 11 rebounds during her junior year on the 21-1 team that was the state runner-up...her senior year, finished with a 20-1 record while totaling eight points and eight rebounds per game...averaged a double-double for her career--10 points and 10 rebounds.
