PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Shavonte Zellous had 27 points and 10 rebounds to help Pittsburgh upset No. 16 Marquette 91-87 in overtime Tuesday night.

Xenia Stewart added 23 points and Marcedes Walker 20 for the Panthers (13-2, 1-1 Big East), who snapped a two-game losing streak in a game that featured 12 ties and 13 lead changes.

Christina Quaye had 29 points and Krystal Ellis 27 for the Golden Eagles (15-2, 3-0), who had won a school-record 14 in a row. Marquette had not lost since the second game of the season, Nov. 17 at Virginia.

Ellis, who went to the locker room in the second half with an ankle injury, converted a layup with less than a second to play in regulation to tie it at 72.

Pitt, which beat a ranked team for the first time under fourth-year coach Agnus Berenato, led most of the game until Marquette put together a 15-2 run midway through the second half to take a 55-51 lead.

Marquette shot 42.5 percent from the field, including only 36 percent in the first half. Pitt made four of its six shots in overtime and shot 47.9 percent overall.

The Panthers, who are off to the best start in school history and had been ranked for four consecutive weeks until this week's poll, were playing their first home game in more than a month. Pitt had played five games since defeating Robert Morris 79-69 at home Dec. 5.
