Quoting head coach Muffet McGraw:
On the scoring output:
"Yeah. Micha (Michaela Mabrey) shot it really well it was great to see her coming off of screens and getting good looks. Fore everybody else it just seemed like it was one of those nights where there was a friendly rim."
On Kayla McBride's performance:
"Sometimes when you come home you don't know how it's going to go, so it was great to have all the people from Erie come down and see Kayla play one of the best games she's had all year. It was just a phenomenal effort the whole game.
What Kayla's meant to the program:
"Wow. She has been unbelievable for our program. The contribution she has made to get us to the Final Four the last few years, what she's done for us against Connecticut, it has been phenomenal. She is really someone who is so poised under pressure, so coachable, works extremely hard, always in the gym. She's going to be irreplaceable.
Different ways of scoring:
"We really worked to try to go inside. I think that was our game plan from the start to really get off the start. We had a big mismatch in terms of size, started inside and then wanted to go outside, we got some things to open up on the perimeter, and then it was just a matter of picking our spots."
Quoting Jewell Loyd:
On the offensive output:
"I think we were just really patient and stuck to the game plan. I think we're starting to know each other a lot better on the court, and we just tried to make the right decisions."
On her defensive production:
"We're just trying to get more aggressive. I'm trying to get into the right spaces in the defenses, get in to the passing lanes a little bit, and trust my athletic ability sometimes to make plays. But we're also getting great ball pressure up top and we just want it more. It's really a mental thing."
Quoting Kayla McBride
On the offensive output:
"Yeah we were just sharing the ball. We had something like 25 assists today so it was just about making the extra pass. Those are good shots but we can find the better ones and we were in it a lot tonight."
On playing in her home state as a senior:
"It's always good to come back home and see familiar faces and family. You kind of feel at home, even though I'm not really home, but it's just a great feeling as a senior to be able to come home and play in front of a home crowd. It's just amazing, especially being with this team and this program I love so much."
