PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

The Pitt women’s basketball team (11-2, 1-0 Big East) travels to Providence Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. meeting with the Friars. The 19th-ranked Panthers will look to stay undefeated in the Big East with a win.

Providence holds the all-time series record between the teams, 26-18, but the Panthers have won the last six meetings including a 20-point victory last season (81-61).

Senior guard Shavonte Zellous (Orlando, Fla./Jones) leads the Big East in scoring with 23.1 points per game, which is also good enough for fourth in the nation. She is also just four points from moving into fifth in all-time scoring at Pitt.

Tuesday afternoon the updated USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll rankings were released and the Panthers moved up two spots to No. 20. Pitt continues to hold at No. 19 in the Associated Press poll for three straight weeks.

The game against Providence will be streamed live on www.pittsburghpanthers.com as a part of All Access with Greg Linnelli and Jen Tuscano on the call. The broadcast can also be heard locally in Pittsburgh on FOX Sports 970 AM.
