PITTSBURGH – For Sunday’s Pitt women’s basketball game vs. Syracuse University, the Panthers will host Girl Scout and ACC Day which will include numerous events and promotions throughout the day.
Girl Scout Day activities will commence at 12 p.m. with activities including face painting and balloon artists, poster making, and cheer clinics with the University of Pittsburgh Cheer and Dance teams. All scouts in uniform will have the chance to register and win a week at camp, with the winner to be announced at halftime.
Special Girl Scout Day videos will be played throughout the game, and scouts will be able to meet the Pitt Women’s Basketball team on the court and get their 2013-2014 poster signed postgame.
To honor the ACC Celebration, the Petersen Events Center will host an in-arena blimp with a landing area on Open Concourse for the viewing pleasure of all fans. To add to the excitement, plush toy prizes will be dropped from the blimp throughout the game, as well as mini-basketballs and 150 Pitt/ACC branded t-shirts to be distributed.
To add to the events, 35 twirlers and their families and friends are attending to watch the Panthers take on the Orange. Come halftime, the twirlers will have the opportunity to show off their newly learned routine and perform on the court with the University of Pittsburgh Golden Girls.
All members of the Oakland Zoo are invited to a student pizza party which will take place at halftime in the Media Interview Room. Students in attendance will also earn four loyalty points.
Tipoff inside the Petersen Events Center is set for 2 p.m.
