Walker (Philadelphia, Pa./University City) is the first Panther to receive Big East Freshman of the Week since Mandy Wittenmyer earned the honor on Feb. 28, 2000.

Helping Pittsburgh to two Big East road victories last week, Walker averaged 14.5 points and 9.0 rebounds. In the win at Georgetown, she nearly finished with a double-double as she posted 20 points and nine rebounds. Walker hit 6-of-9 field goals and 8-of-9 free throws against the Hoyas. Earlier in the week, Walker tallied nine points and nine rebounds in the win over Seton Hall.

On the year, Walker is leading the team and the Big East in rebounding (8.9 avg.) and is second on the Panthers in scoring (12.8 avg.). She is hitting a team-best 48.5 percent from the field.
