The Panthers are looking to avenge an earlier-season setback to the Mountaineers in Morgantown.

    THE GAME

    Pittsburgh looks to avenge an earlier season loss to West Virginia and snap a current three-game losing skid as it hosts the Mountaineers on Saturday afternoon at the Petersen Events Center. Game time is slated for 2 p.m. and will be aired live on WVFX in Clarksburg, Charter 22 in Charleston and WJAL in Chambersburg, Pa.

    The Panthers had a week off following an 83-72 loss at St. John’s last Saturday. West Virginia has won five straight games, including a 70-61 win over Georgetown on Wednesday night.

    SERIES HISTORY

    Saturday’s game marks the 30th meeting between Pittsburgh and West Virginia with the Mountaineers leading the all-time series, 16-13. Earlier this year, West Virginia defeated the Panthers, 65-58, at the WVU Coliseum on Jan. 3. However, Pittsburgh leads the series 9-4 at home and have won three straight in the Steel City. The Panthers have not lost to WVU in Pittsburgh since an 86-61 setback on Jan. 31, 1998, at Fitzgerald Field House. The following is a breakdown of the series history:
