    THE GAME

Following a week off, Pittsburgh is back in action as it travels to St. John’s for a Big East matchup at Carnesecca Arena. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. as the Panthers look to avenge a 60-57 loss to the Red Storm earlier this season on Jan. 4 at the Petersen Events Center.

Pittsburgh also attempts to snap a current four-game losing streak, having lost to three ranked teams during the stretch. Last Saturday, the Panthers fell to then-No. 6/7 Notre Dame, 75-47, at the Petersen Events Center.

St. John’s is coming off a 84-58 setback at West Virginia on Tuesday night. Prior to that loss, the Red Storm knocked off nationally ranked Boston College, 69-52, last Saturday in Chestnut Hill.

    ALL-TIME SERIES

Pittsburgh and St. John’s meet for the second time this year and the 42nd time in the series history with the Red Storm leading the series, 27-14. St. John’s leads the all-time series at home, 14-4, as the Panthers have not won in Jamaica since a 50-46 victory on Jan. 2, 1997. (Pittsburgh defeated the Red Storm, 75-51, on Jan. 18. 2003, an away game for the Panthers that was played at Seton Hall’s Walsh Gym.) Pittsburgh has dropped three straight overall in the series, including a 60-57 setback on Jan. 4 of this year.
