PITTSBURGH - No. 18 Pitt women's basketball will team up with Race for the Cure and the Susan G. Komen Foundation to host No. 2 Connecticut in the first annual Pink the Petersen event this Sunday at 2 p.m.

The initiative is part of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's Think Pink drive to raise breast cancer awareness. The Pitt band, cheerleaders and dance team will be participating and giving out prizes.

The Panthers will be wearing pink uniforms to show their support for the cause. Fans are also encouraged to wear pink in order to raise breast cancer awareness and help to Pink the Petersen.

Pitt's contest against Connecticut will be broadcasted live on ESPNU with Beth Mowins, Charlene Curtis and Melissa Knowles calling the action. The game marks the sixth time the Panthers have been on national or regional television this season.

All breast cancer survivors registered with the Susan G. Komen Foundation, as well as one guest, will receive free admission through concourse C. For additional ticket information, contact the Panthers Ticket Office at 1-800-643-PITT.
