  • Providence Game Notes

    THE GAME

Pittsburgh closes its regular-season slate with a road contest at Providence on Monday night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at Alumni Hall.

The Panthers look to sweep the season series with the Friars for the first time since the 1995 season. Just two weeks ago, Pittsburgh recorded a 63-47 over Providence at the Petersen Events Center on Feb. 19.

Providence has lost 15 straight games with its only victory of the season coming over Troy, a 59-56 decision on Dec. 30.

    ALL-TIME SERIES

Monday’s game marks the 41st meeting between Pittsburgh and Providence with the Friars leading the all-time series, 26-14. The Panthers have only won twice in 17 tries (2-15) at Providence and have not earned a victory there since a 76-72 triumph on Feb. 18. 1995.

Pittsburgh has won two straight games in the series, including a 63-47 victory earlier this year at the Petersen Events Center. The Panthers have won three straight over the Friars just once in the series, a three-game stretch during the 1993 and 1994 seasons.
