PITTSBURGH - The first University of Pittsburgh women's basketball camp in the Suzie McConnell-Serio era will take place on Monday, June 24, beginning at 9 a.m.
It's not too late to register for the first day camp, which runs from Monday to Wednesday (June 24-26) - walk-on's are welcome (Sign-in will take place on the Concourse A entrance of the Petersen Events Center).
The Pitt coaching staff, along with current members of the women's basketball team will offer skill instruction to area youngsters at the camps, while also training youngsters on sportsmanship and competiveness.
The second day camp will be held July 15-17 (Monday - Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
The two individual camps are open to girls in grades 4 through 9th (entering each grade). The camps will be conducted at the Petersen Events Center (three courts) and Fitzgerald Field House (three courts).
The cost of the individual three-day summer session is $195 with lunch provided. Each camper will receive a basketball and t-shirt for their participation. Discounts apply for University employees and for attendance at both camps.
McConnell-Serio and her staff will host a team camp at Pitt on the weekend of June 28-30. The camp is open to all varsity teams with a guarantee of seven games in three days. Each game will be officiated by certified referees with a special session presented on academic and NCAA rules, as well as, information on the college recruiting process.
