PITTSBURGH - Highlighted by its inaugural slate of Atlantic Coast Conference games, the Pitt women’s basketball program announced its complete 2013-14 schedule on Wednesday.

The schedule includes 16 home games at the Petersen Events Center, including its ACC debut Jan. 2 against Florida State, a home matchup against 2013 Final Four participant Notre Dame and nine showdowns with NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago.

"We’re looking forward to our first season in the ACC,” said head coach Suzie McConnell-Serio, who begins her first season at the University of Pittsburgh this fall. “The schedule will bring some top-tier teams in the country to the Petersen Events Center and we welcome the opportunities that come with that. It should be an exciting start to a new era in Pitt women’s basketball.”

Pitt will face each of the 14 ACC programs and play two teams twice (Syracuse and Clemson). Of the 16 conference games, eight will be played at home and eight on the road. The Panthers’ first ACC regular season game versus the Seminoles on Jan. 2 is the only league contest on the evening, marking the start of the entire league schedule.

Other home contests include Notre Dame (Jan. 16), Syracuse (Jan. 19), Boston College (Jan. 30), Georgia Tech (Feb. 3), Wake Forest (Feb. 9), Clemson (Feb. 16) and N.C. State (Feb. 27).

The Panthers will also travel to Virginia (Jan. 5), Clemson (Jan. 12), NCAA Elite Eight participant Duke (Jan. 26), Maryland (Feb. 6), North Carolina (Feb. 13), Virginia Tech (Feb. 20), Syracuse (Feb. 23) and Miami (March 2). Florida State, Maryland, UNC, Syracuse and Miami each made showings in the 2013 NCAA Tournament.

The 2014 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament is scheduled for March 5-9 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C.

Pitt will begin its season with an exhibition game on Nov. 3 against California (PA). The fifth annual School Day contest on Friday, Nov. 8 marks the official tip of the 2013-14 campaign with an 11 a.m. matchup versus Bucknell.

The Panthers also host Lafayette (Nov. 17), Mount St. Mary’s (Nov. 26), Buffalo (Dec. 1) and Old Dominion (Dec. 4) in non-conference action.

A match-up with intra-city rival Duquesne closes out non-conference play and the calendar year on Dec. 29. McConnell-Serio coached the past six seasons at Duquesne, posting a .638 winning percentage and five-straight postseason appearances.

The non-conference road schedule includes an early season test at 2013 NCAA Tournament participant Michigan on Nov. 20. In mid-December, Pitt heads west for the Duel in the Desert in Las Vegas - facing Washington, DePaul and Louisiana-Monroe.

Season tickets are available with prices at $50 for adults and $20 for youths (2-17) and seniors (50 and over). A family plan is available for $110 (4 tickets), while the VIP Courtside seats are priced at $100.

Admission is free to all University of Pittsburgh students, Pitt and UPMC Faculty and Staff with a valid Pitt or UPMC ID. For more ticket information, call the Panthers Ticket Office at 1-800-643-7488.

Pitt returns five starters and its top eight scorers from a season ago.
