KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -

Former Pitt women’s basketball player Marcedes Walker will be honored as her jersey will hang in the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame as a part of the Ring of Honor display. Walker’s jersey will be displayed as recognition of her outstanding play during the 2007-08 season.

Walker concluded her career at Pitt as the program’s top rebounder with 1,162 over four seasons. She also finished as the No. 4 scorer in school history with 1,870 points. Walker helped lead the Panthers to new heights during her time in the Steel City. During her stint, Pitt won a school-record 24 games in back-to-back seasons and for her efforts, she became a four-time All-Big East team member.

“The Ring of Honor is an exhibit at the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame where we honor the nation’s top players at every level,” said Karen Tucker, Director of Basketball Relations for the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. “To have your jersey on display at the Hall of Fame is a huge privilege and we are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of these young athletes.”

Currently, the Ring of Honor consists of over 100 jerseys hanging from the rafters of the back rotunda at the Hall of Fame. The display includes jerseys of the top high school and college players from the 2007-08 season and the 2007 WNBA All-Stars.
