PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh Athletic Department has once again teamed up with CBS Radio, the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and UPMC Health Plan for its ‘Pack the Pete’ Food Drive, which runs from Monday, Nov. 18 through Friday, Nov. 22.
CBS Radio 100.7 Star will be broadcasting live from the Petersen Events Center lobby around the clock to help take donations of nonperishable food items. Fans can also bring donations to the PEC on Wednesday, Nov. 20 when they attend the Pitt men’s basketball contest against Lehigh.

Last year’s ‘Pack the Pete’ promotion raised over 5,000 pounds of food for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, which serves an 11-county region in Western Pennsylvania. The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank distributes almost 1.7 million pounds of food every month to those in need.
The Panthers are also participating in ‘Pitt’s People for Pets,’ which supports Chow Wagon – a program of animal friends that helps hundreds of households each month by supplying pet food and treats to community food pantries throughout our region.
