Pitt Game Notes l Mount St. Mary's Game Notes
PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh women's basketball team will wrap up the 2009 portion of its schedule on Thursday afternoon, hosting Mount St. Mary's at 1 p.m. inside the Petersen Events Center.
The Panthers (10-2, 0-0 Big East) are coming off their first home loss in 13 games after falling to crosstown rival Duquesne, 72-63, on Dec. 29.
Pitt leads the all-time series 2-0, having won both in Pittsburgh and Maryland. The last time these two teams met was during the 2007-08 season, with the Panthers claiming the 82-31 victory.
Head coach Agnus Berenato will be coaching against her alma mater Thursday afternoon for the third time in her career. Berenato was a three-year starter for the Mountaineers and two-time captain under former NBA star and current ESPN analyst Fred Carter.
The Panthers enter this week ranked No. 20 in the latest Associated Press poll and No. 18 in the most recent ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.
