Quoting Pitt Following EAGL Championships

March 24, 2012

Recap |  Results

Quoting Pitt head coach Debbie Yohman

On how the team performed as a whole and who stood out today:
“We ended the season with a season high team score and you couldn’t have ended the season any better. As far as who stood out, I would have to say everyone. This was totally a true team effort. We didn’t have anyone that stood out or jumped out in the awards stand, it was a total team effort and that is what we have been trying to do all along.”

On what you can take from this meet to looking forward to next season:
“We can move our way up that podium, because my kids worked really hard and we didn’t work to finish fifth place. My kids will be mad going into next year. We don’t want to finish down here again.”

Quoting Pitt’s Alicia Talucci

On earning rookie of the year as a freshman in 2009 and now coming full circle as a senior:
“Well, my freshmen year I came in sort of out of shape and not ready to go so getting rookie of the year that year was a real honor and a privilege. From where I started in the beginning of the year and where I finished felt really good. Here today as a senior, it’s kind of bittersweet. I’m ready to move on, but I’m really going to miss it. I really had fun today and it was a good meet to end on.”

On how special it was to be able to perform in front of your home crowd at your last meet:
“It was great. Usually my parents come to the EAGL meets, but now my friends and the people I’ve grown close to at college got to see me and that felt great. They finally got to see what I do every day.”

Quoting Pitt’s Haley Bodenheimer

On how it feels to be EAGL Rookie of the Year:
“It’s one of the best feelings I’ve ever had. Coming into this year I never thought I would have been EAGL Rookie of the Year, but I did my best and I got rewarded in the end.”

On her overall performance this season:
“It was good, it was a solid year for me. No injuries really, it just went smooth.”
