The Pitt gymnastics team continues their home stand on Saturday with a quad meet at 7 p.m. against Maryland, Temple and Cornell at Fitzgerald Field House.
“We’re excited to have these teams in,” head coach Debbie Yohman said. “It will be a competitive quad meet. Maryland is ranked No. 2 in the EAGL, Cornell and Temple are much improved and our team is highly motivated. There won’t be too much movement in the lineup this week, but we did spend the week working on our weaknesses and getting some additional depth ready. The goal is to make consistent improvement each week over a pretty strong start!”
Pitt is coming off its best performance in a season-opener in school history, scoring a 193.550 in its first meet of the year against West Virginia. Freshman Lindsay Offutt claimed the all-around in her first collegiate competition, making her the first Panther to achieve that milestone in more than 15 years.
Following Saturday’s meet, Pitt will be on the road for five straight meets as this marks the last time Pitt will compete at home until March 2 when they host North Carolina.
